Green Street presents
collector Ken Freed's selections of sculpture from his own
dynamic collection. Works from Italy, England and the East and
West Coast of
the United States are on view for the first time in Boston. Spanning
two
generations of innovative sculptural production, the non-abstract,
often simple
way of making energetic work has been described by Holland Cotter
of the New
York Times as "material life in the here and now put through
a high-speed
Conceptual blender."
This is the second of three different exhibits
of his collection this year which
began at the Dorsky Gallery in New York. The Green Street exhibition
comprises the broadest range of stylistic trends and functions
as a tempting
mini-survey of contemporary sculpture.
Please note: another exhibit of sculpture (with
a few works from Freed's collection)
"Artists Imagine Architecture" will open at the Institute
of Contemporary Art, Boston,
May 21, 2002.
